Welcome to HGVD

The development of human society is inseparable from the domestication of horses, and the emergence of domestic horses promotes the communication between different cultures. We collect the raw data of 76 horse breeds around the world, a total of 406 horses. Here, we developed a comprehensive horse variation database (HorseVar) that hosts 27994944 SNPs and 2963160 Indels derived . The HGVD provides five main functionalities: “Search SNPs”, “Search Indels”, “Genome Browser”and“Alignment Search Tools (BLAT/BLAST)”. Users can freely visualize the frequency of genomic variations in geographical maps, and selective regions in Genome Browser.

Features

  • Basic information of 406 horses accessions.
  • Variations including SNPs, indels are provided in HGVD.
  • We provide two ways to view variations, one is interactive tables and graphs and the other is Gbrowse format.
  • We provide a parallel search for variations, such as dbSNP rsid, gene symbol, and genomic region in three versions of the horse genome (EquCab3.0).
  • We provide allele frequency distribution pattern of each SNP or indel in 76 globally representative horse breeds or seven "core" horse groups.
  • We provide selection scores for seven groups of Intensive, Mongolian-derived, Nordic, Northern_Chinese, Przewalski, QT_Plateau, Southwestern_Chinese by using seven statistical terms.
  • We integrate variations, selection scores, gene annotation, QTL and conserved elements into Gbrowse to facilitate global presentation.

Przewalski: 18
Nordic: 30
Mongolian_derived: 9
Northern_Chinese: 56
QT_Plateau: 64
